Describe the bug
Timeout countdown stops when tab is changed. Safari stops counting down after 10 seconds if the tab is not open. Session timeout becomes useless if user doesn't open the tab for a long time.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Wait until timeout pop-up comes to screen
  2. Change tab
  3. Wait for a several minutes
  4. Return the main tab. It will be decreased only 10 seconds (at most)

Expected behavior
Timeout should be working even the tab is not currently open.

Desktop :

  • OS: MacOS Big Sur
  • Browser: Safari
  • Version 14.0.1
