what does await NfcManager.start() do exactly?

Hi was wondering what await NfcManager.start() is doing exactly and is it safe to call it at the start of the app and never close ?

does it have an impact on the battery life of the phone for example because it would constantly listen in the background.

Would it be better to call start and close before and after the scan rather than at app launch?

Just wondering what is the impact. From what i can understand on ios, it just check if it's available but on android it seems to setup some stuff like intent etc, so wondering what is the perf impact if runnning all the time.

Thanks for the lib in any case it's great, just wish Apple had more info on which entitlement to ask for some stuff ahah
