Can't start rust-analyzer from source

Hi, I'm trying to fix a bug in rust-analyzer and launching it via the Debug launch config, or cargo xtask install ... both give me these errors:

error: Unknown binary 'rust-analyzer.exe' in official toolchain 'stable-x86_64-pc-windows-msvc'.

This is on Windows. I tried adding this to my settings but it had no effect:

    "rust-analyzer.server.path": "rust-analyzer",

Can't say I've seen that error before. The alternative is to make a release build of rust-anaylzer and pointer the server path to that binary in your target directory

That's a rustup message: https://github.com/search?type=code&q=%22in+official+toolchain%22. Which version do you have? Not that it should make a difference..

Could it be because I'm on Windows?

The alternative is to make a release build of rust-anaylzer and pointer the server path to that binary in your target directory
