Inconsistent syntax coloring

• Scala 3.6.4
• Zed 0.178.5
• metals-zed extension v0.1.2
• macOS 15.3.2

The extension works well most of the time, but occasionally the syntax highlighting goes a bit astray. Restarting Zed does not fix the problem.
Here is an example...

Looks like maybe it's semantic highlighting causing that? Are you able to check if it's enabled? If it's not visible anywhere in the UI you could create .metals/lsp.trace.json and see if semanticTokens request is being sent

Thanks for the reply. I've created .metals/lsp.trace.json but I'm not sure what to do next. At the moment. it's just sitting there at 0 bytes 😉

You probably need to reload the window, it's picked up at the start of the server connection to Zed

Oh, by the way, do you remember that problem I had with the Scalafix error popping up all the time? Well, whatever you did seems to have fixed it, so thanks for that 🙏

If you have something like Received request 'textDocument/semanticTokens/full - (7)' then it's semantic highlight, otherwise it's tree sitter and will probably need to be fixed in the scala treesitter syntax.

But it seems it's not implemented currently zed-industries/zed#7450

So the issue lies most likely in https://github.com/tree-sitter/tree-sitter-scala or tree sitter itself.

I've just upgraded to metals-zed extension v0.1.3 but the color issue is still present...

It doesn't stop me working but it just looks a bit crap ;)
