<h1>Teaching</h1>
<p><span>I am passionate about disseminating information widely to
have impact on a broad array of students.
<a href="https://seattle.poly.edu/html/education.html">Educational materials</a>
that I created and maintain have been
used in about one hundred classes across two dozen universities.
I invite anyone who is interested to look at the
<a href="https://seattle.poly.edu/html/education.html">set of public
educational modules</a>. These cover networking, security, and
cloud computing (with materials on operating systems under development
/ classroom testing). All of the educational modules on this site have been used
in at least two classes before being publicly listed.</span></p>
<p><br />
We have written
<a href="/papers/hooshangi_sigcse15.pdf">a</a>
<a href="/papers/cappos_refmonitor_sigcse_14.pdf">few</a>
<a href="/papers/cappos_seattle_sigcse_2009.pdf">papers</a>
about the effectiveness of these educational
materials (and <a href="https://scholar.google.com/scholar?oi=bibs&hl=en&cites=14488879760028297339">others have as well</a>).
Educational materials that leverage Seattle are the top ranked resource on
the <a href="http://education.sigcomm.org/">ACM SIGCOMM Educational
Resources</a> website.
</p>
<p>
I am honored to be recognized with the
<a href="http://engineering.nyu.edu/news/2016/06/03/tandon-faculty-honored-teaching-awards">2016 Jacobs Excellence in Education Award</a>.
