I'm running into a CPU bottleneck when I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 and was wondering how dynamic boost might affect that. I'm using a 2024 G14 (8945HS/4070) and have the dynamic boost set to the minimum value in G-Helper (5W). Generally the game runs fine but when I get into four/five-star police chases (heavy on the CPU), the frame pacing and massive stuttering starts to occur. My FPS is still running about the same in those scenes (maybe ~10% less, but it's negligible) but it's just the stutters that make it an unpleasant experience.
I know the 2024 G14 limits the CPU to ~12W under full load on the GPU (65W + 25W), but when that power gets shifted back to the CPU, the stuttering still occurs. So I originally thought it was the GPU being at 65W during those moments being the bottleneck, so I tried flashing a custom vBIOS (G16 AMD 4070 105W) onto my G14 and set the GPU to run at a base of 80W with dynamic boost tested at both 5W and 25W. The CPU now runs around ~22W consistently but during those intense cpu-heavy scenes, I still run into stuttering and I notice that Dynamic boost doesn't shift more power back to the CPU.
Or am I just temperature limited at this point? Granted I am running a cooling pad (the Illano 2800rpm one) underneath the G14 and I still get around 95 C. Is it just limited at 95 C cause on AMD's site it mentions that it could reach 100 C. Or did ASUS tweak the power/temp limits?
