Expand your team with Copilot cloud agent

Let Copilot cloud agent tackle your issues directly on GitHub. No coding environment needed.

Welcome

  • Who is this for: Developers at any experience level looking to accelerate their code workflow.

  • What you'll learn: How to assign Copilot an issue, review Copilot's work, provide feedback to Copilot, and work on multiple issues in parallel.

  • What you'll build: You will provide GitHub Copilot access to the repository for the Mergington High School Extracurricular Activities website, enabling your fellow teachers to make changes without needing to code directly.

  • Prerequisites:

  • How long: This exercise takes less than one hour to complete.

In this exercise, you will:

  1. Learn how to enable Copilot cloud agent on your repository.
  2. Assign an issue and understand your agent's progress.
  3. Collaborate with your agent on code changes.
  4. Customize and optimize your agent's workspace.
  5. Delegate and track multiple tasks in parallel.

How to start this exercise

Simply copy the exercise to your account, then give your favorite Octocat (Mona) about 20 seconds to prepare the first lesson, then refresh the page.

Having trouble? 🤷

When copying the exercise, we recommend the following settings:

  • For owner, choose your personal account or an organization to host the repository.

  • We recommend creating a public repository, since private repositories will use Actions minutes.

If the exercise isn't ready in 20 seconds, please check the Actions tab.

  • Check to see if a job is running. Sometimes it simply takes a bit longer.

  • If the page shows a failed job, please submit an issue. Nice, you found a bug! 🐛
