Yup,
Seems this happens when a theme overrides their vite.config.ts file
I was using the theme "slidev-theme-neversink"

until the theme developer fixes things, we are shit out of luck lol (unless you want to fork it and then use that one instead)

but the workaround :

open the node_modules/slidev-theme-neversink/vite.config.ts (or your corresponding theme directory)
Make the exported defaultConfig look like this

export default defineConfig({
  server: {
    allowedHosts: ['.trycloudflare.com'] 
  },
// The other config things

In my case
the entire file looks like this after the patch

//import MarkdownItMagicLink from 'markdown-it-magic-link'
import { sub } from '@mdit/plugin-sub'
import Mark from 'markdown-it-mark'
import { version } from './package.json'
