Support Images from xcassets for native bottom tabs

Android has drawableResource asset. Is there any plan to support xcassets image for ios native bottom tabs?

hey! thanks for bringing this up. I think we need to first conduct some research, for what are the actual use cases on iOS. First thing that comes to my mind is a brownfield application, where such resources could be shared between RN & native part in more straightforward manner.

Adding a voice here; I'd like to use XCAssets in the Native Stack header (unstable_headerRightItems and unstable_headerLeftItems).
My use case is for custom sfSymbols added to the native iOS project through XCAssets. Ideally, they would be seamless, i.e. you would be able to write just as you would for the built-in sfSymbols:

unstable_headerLeftItems: () => [ { type: 'button', icon: { type: 'sfSymbol', name: 'custom.line.3.horizontal', }, onPress: () => navigation.openDrawer(), } ]

I'm also open to a new type, 'xcAsset', for more broad support (i.e. not just sfSymbols)

To keep you up to date -> we've done some initial research & it seems that implementing this is feasible (and seemingly straightforward). We'll work on it most likely after 4.19.0 release.
