How to build teh dashboard within a admin view?

I might be doing something wrong...
I want to use the dashboard in the content pane of a typical sidebar nav/topbar nav page. But when I put

<x-dashboard>
    {- tiles -}
</x-dashboard>

It takes over the entire page
Is there something I am doing wrong? if not, is there a way I can constrain the dashboard to just teh content pane?

ok I worked out...
A wish-list item... Can we have a config setting so that we can strip or include teh html/head/body tag space..?
In my free time I'll see if I can put it in.
