Become a sponsor to Nick Kugaevsky
Hi, I'm Nick π
I'm a software engineer with 15+ years building products β these days leading
platform engineering as a CTO, and for most of that time an open-source
contributor. I've sent patches to tools I use every day β GitLab, RVM,
PostCSS, Foundation, Travis CI, Fog and many more β and I keep building and
maintaining things in the open, mostly around Ruby, the web, and lately
local-first smart-home software.
That last part means Home Assistant integrations that reverse-engineer devices'
Bluetooth protocols so they run entirely from your own home β no cloud, no
vendor app.
Why sponsor? My open-source work is free, but it costs real time β and, for
the hardware-hacking side, real devices. Sponsorship lets me keep projects
maintained and compatible, spend more time contributing, and buy the hardware to
support more devices instead of letting them phone home.
If something I've built or contributed to has saved you time, I'd be grateful for
your support. π

$3 a month
SelectπΊ Beer β buy me a beer each month (a modest local one β not the $12 imported Kilkenny, see below π). Sponsor badge + my sincere thanks.
$7 a month
SelectπΊ Happy hour β a beer with a name you'd actually recognize; the mid-shelf rung on the ladder to that mythical $12 Kilkenny. Everything above, plus your name in the project's BACKERS list.
$12 a month
SelectπΊ The $12 Tashkent Kilkenny β somehow a pint of Kilkenny in Tashkent costs a suspicious $12 of pure import-tax mystery. Sponsor the legend and I'll toast you while I debug. Everything above, plus priority triage on your issues/requests and your name/handle in the README.
