Integrate gen_pids.py into API?

The parse_yaml script has been integrated into the API and is automatically called upon cache-renewal. Maybe something similar could be done with get_pids so that it is called automatically (e.g. through a webhook) when metadata files have been changed?

This is not prioritised though since the current solution is good enough for now.
