Alert options freezing discharge

Describe the bug
System was being held in a freeze discharge state and pulling from the grid not battery.

Expected behaviour
Expecting the house to be covered by the battery (In the main!)

I have "Solved" the problem by removing the alert section from the config file.

8.31.12

Environment details

• Givenergy 5kW gen 3
• Standard HAOS installer on a Proxmox managed NUC
• 9.5kWh Gen 3 battery, Plus 8.2kWh Gen 1 battery.

I'm not sure this is a bug

If a weather alert is predicted then predbat will hold your battery level to give you power in the event of a power cut.

Please supply a logfile if you are sure there is a bug here

You could be right - except my config asked for keep to be 40% whereas it was keeping 100% (Which is the default according to the documents.)

can you include your apps.yaml and the logfile showing when it loaded the alerts section please, and when it changed to charging to 100% instead of the specified limit

a copy of the plan showing this behaviour would also be very useful

I have a similar behaviour but not using weather alerts, wondering if my issue is more linked to DFS events being detected.

Unfortunately I don't have the log file going back that far - or the plan and since I re-instated the alerts and changed the keep to 4, it has behaved as expected. I have included my apps.yaml though just in case it is useful?

thanks, yes I can see what you mean about the plan holding the battery at 100% all day

the apps.yaml currently has keep set to 4, this was 40 beforehand?

the older versions of the predbat logfile should still be available, when the log gets to a certain size it renames it to predbat.1.log, predbat.2.log, etc, these are all in the addon directory. Could really do with seeing what happened when the alert triggered

Ok, found the log and cut a load out (But is still quite large - hopefully it isn't too hard to find what you want to see!
