As I understand the current setup is made for either external spool, and the new prototype is being worked for AMS. How does it work for AMS lite?

Correct, the current model only works for external spools. An add-on board that lets you select which version is in the works.

Would watching the states of the ams lite slots for one minute and assign the parameters to the next slot changing the state be an option, too?

So scan and equip would be smooth without the need of pressing additional buttons.
