How to use with a Rust backend?

Hello! I have a rust we backend that I use, it also has a frontend which I could install this library in. I'm not totally clear how I would connect to two except maybe if the changes are just streamed through the backend to each web client. Additionally, I would like to have a native client that can use the same rust code as the backend but is ran as a local executable. I'm guessing this will be difficult until someone takes interest in building a crate that uses the specs?
