[Feature Request] Language Support for ISPC (Intel Implicit SPMD Program Compiler)

The ISPC language is a dialect of C which is intended for writing kernels for accelerators (SIMD / GPU).

It would be great to have support for it (Based on C).
Some resources that might be helpful:

• ISPC VS Code extension.
• ISPC Tree Sitter definition.
• ISPC TextMate Syntax Description.

1. C family needs to be tweaked for language extensions to be sanely possible

   A fairly recent attempt was made at: [C Family] Full rewrite of C family syntaxes #4147

   Therefore it probably is a dead end to add features to current C syntaxes.

2. Language support for certain frameworks or platforms has been subject of 3rd-party packages to avoid bloating bundled packages with rather uncommon syntax definitions, which are not used widespread.

   This issue being passed here implies interest of sublimehq to add ISPC support to bundled syntaxes though.

   Converting ISPC TextMate Syntax Description to something ST can understand seems rather easy. It doesn't however look like it would satisfy our quality expectations.

This appears to be a fairly new syntax. As @deathaxe mentioned, we prefer not to add support for syntaxes that are too niche in order to not overblow the default bundles and keep them maintainable at the same time.

In the current situation, I would not be in favor of adding an ISPC syntax to the default packages and instead suggest to create a third-party package to be distributed via Package Control.
