Trying to close dialogues with buttons underneath just opens new dialogues (react + only on android)

Using @headlessui/react with react/nextjs

Whenever I close a dialogue by clicking in the empty space around it, if there is a button to open another dialogue/the same dialogue where I am tapping, it will open/reopen the dialogue immediately instead of just closing the dialogue. This is an issue on my website where, on mobile, I'm using images to open dialogues and 90% of the screen is filled with images.

I've tested on multiple iOS devices, no issue, I tested chrome browser and google browser on one android device and edge + edge go on another android device and the issue is present on all browsers, just on android.

I have added an image to further explain what is happening, all the images have an onClick to open the image in the dialogue window.

I'm pretty sure this is a bug, but if there is a quick workaround then that would be great, if not I can post a bug report, let me know.
