I have root. I've tried it on 3 different devices. It's always the same mistake.

on non rooted oneplus 7t running android 11 btw

Same for me, but I got it to start the install by doing this:

pkg i git
git clone https://github.com/talss89/termux-home-assistant-installer.git
cd termux-home-assistant-installer && ./termux-home-assistant.sh install
