Thanks for your contribution. I am sure I am missing something basic, but is there a reason why my screen would not be changing? I can press the next button and it will rotate (mode 3) but after 10 hours (tried on 15 minutes also) and it will not change. The switch is in the “ON” position. Could I need to change the button battery?

Similar issue with mode 3, seems to just stop working after a while.
Next button doesn't do anything and no red light.
All I can do is reflash firmware to bring it back to life.

I also have a problem with one of my PhotoPainter: every few
days the picture doesn't refresh. The signal from the real time
clock goes LOW and passes the switch, but the processor seems
to not recognize it.

Because the signal already is LOW, pressing the button
doesn't change anything.
All I can do is reflash firmware to bring it back to life.
My workaround is: bring the signal back to HIGH by putting
the switch to OFF and then again to LOW, either by pressing
the button or putting the switch back to ON (the signal
from the real time clock still is LOW).
Without the schematic from the board it is hard to find out
the reason for the bug. Maybe the slew rate of the signal
is to slow for the processor to recognize the signal
transition (too high resistor value of the switch?).
But as long as a single off-on of the switch every few
days is sufficient, I will not further investigate the
problem. But if you get a solution from the Waveshare
support, please post it here.
