My Home Assistant version:

HA Green
Core 2025.2.1
Supervisor 2025.02.0
Operating System 14.2
Frontend 20250205.0

What I am doing:

  1. Dashboard
I am using a dashboard that is not the HA Default 'Overview' dashboard. In the User settings (Icon profile pic at the bottom of the sidebar) the default dashboard is set to 'Nameofmydashboard'. (I know these are device related settings)
In Browser Mod, I set default dashboard to 'default-nameofmydashboard' for User 1, User 2 and Global.

  2. Sidebar order
User 1 and User 2 set their sidebar order in User settings (icon profile at the bottom of the sidebar) to User-1-order and User-2-order (I know these settings are device related only).
In browser mod the same exact order/settings are set for User 1 and User 2. For 'Global' the sidebar order is set to 'Nameofmydashboard', 'Logbook'.

What I expected to happen:

  1. Users logging in from a device they have already used (or a new device) should be shown 'Nameofmydashboard'. (Enforced both by local user settings and Browser mode)

  2. same as above for the side bar order.

What happened instead:

  1. Logging in from any device shows the HA Overview dashboard (Default) in Edit mode.
  2. Logging in from any device shows all sidebar items.

Minimal steps to reproduce:
1)

  • Go to User settings
  • set a dashboard other than the Default one
  • Go to Browser mode
  • go to the default dashboard setting
  • set a dashboard other than the default one for each users and for Global
  • Go to User settings
  • set the sidebar order to show just a couple of items
  • Go to Browser mode
  • go to the sidebar order setting
  • set the sidebar order to show just a couple of items for each users and for Global
