Problem you are trying to solve

In FairEmail, the app I used before, I could change the account colour as I wanted (using HEX code).

I really miss this function in K-9 Mail.

Suggested solution

You could add another colour field in the account settings. When the user clicks on it, he or she can enter a HEX code (or RGB,...) and the resulting colour becomes the account colour.

With 17.0b4 it's still only possible to select one of 16 predefined colors instead of using an own one defined as e.g. hex code as it was suggested.

We decided to implement the array of predefined colors so we can control more consistently the accessibility and contrast of the selection.
We think that 16 colors are more than enough to offer users a choice.
Adding a complete custom color picker can result in weird and strange color choices that we will need to debug if something goes wrong.
