RTSP 1st time setup

Overview

I have 2 RTSP cameras added. No mics.
I am getting zero detections but clearly hearing birdcalls on the RTSP stream in VLC.

Environment

• Ubuntu Server running Debian 12.9 on Virtualbox Windows host
• Docker v 24.0.2 and several other containers working fine.
• Added a mic to host and connected it to VM in Virtualbox settings so it could see the card
• Followed install steps with the following config:

docker run -d
-p 8080:8080
-v /home/simon/birdnet-data:/data
-e TZ=Australia/Melbourne
--env ALSA_CARD=0
--device /dev/snd
--name birdnet-analyzer
ghcr.io/tphakala/birdnet-go:latest

This allowed a successful install.

• 2 Dahua cameras running with good continious audio setup as G.711A encoding and 8000 sampling frequency.
• Can stream and hear these cameras just fine in VLC

Additional Settings

• AUDIO CAPTURE: Added a single RTSP stream - rtsp://username:[email protected]:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1&unicast=true&proto=Onvif
• Added my lat/lon

Things I have tried

• Disabled detection filters
• Disabled Audio export
• Adjusted sensitivity, threshold to be low
• Disabled Dynamic Threshold

Can someone help get me going in what to troubleshoot from here? Have spent a bit of time trying to get this going for my partner. Feel like I am close?

version you tried requires application restart after adding RTSP sources, however I fixed this today and now streams are enabled at runtime. Please pull new nigthly image and test with it.

Thanks. Have pulled the dev release and seems to be be saving the RTSP streams. Still no incidents but will check in a day.
