Is maxAverageBitrate 16000 still recommended?

Use Case: Human speech only.

In the help center it says to consider limiting maxAverageBitrate to 16 Kpbs here. Is that still recommended, because the help center hasn't been updated in a while and I wonder because Google Meet uses a higher value on average. So wouldn't it be better to just not define it all?

Also if a user is in a noisy environment (like a coffee shop or open office) or if multiple people are speaking near the same microphone, the codec has to represent that entire complex soundscape within a very tight data limit. It has less "budget" to spend on preserving the clarity of the primary speaker's voice.

Thanks for pointing this out. You're right, 16 Kbps is too low for a good maxAudioBitrate example. The docs need updating on our end. For now, I'd recommend setting a value that balances quality and bandwidth for your specific use case.
