The code in the 'Learning Android 2nd Edition' points to the old location.

One line change needed:
public static final String DEFAULT_API_ROOT = "http://yamba.newcircle.com/api";

Or, for the convenience, I have updated the code and built a .jar here:
https://github.com/divukman/YambaClientLib/tree/master/bin
