I like the idea of the game and it is quite fun to play.
Instantly some further improvements came up to improve usability and fun playing the game.

Keyboard Shortcuts:

W/S: Increase/Decrease Speed Selection
A/D: Turn Left/Right
E: Engage
Space: Fire
Mouse Click or Drag in Strategic View: Change Heading to Mouse Pointer
