prev/next buttons on vite@next

Describe the bug

prev/next buttons not working. all pages show only the next button, pointing always to the first page.

there is no prev button at the bottom, and the next points to the wrong page

Expected behavior

i expected to get prev/next buttons automatically

all i have is 
    "vitepress": "^2.0.0-alpha.15"

nothing else installed
