What change would you like to see?

I would like to be able to copy and paste exclusions from one crawl workflow to another.

Context

Exclusions are often similar between crawl workflows of the same website that are focused on specific URL patterns — most commonly focused crawls of social media sites. Because these are a table, adding them can be time consuming and especially frustrating as users must enter the same data multiple times.

This UX issue may be partially solved with a workflow template. Users can also currently duplicate a workflow and then adjust the settings of the duplicate workflow to suit their needs — a sort of clunky solution, but a decent workaround for now!

User feedback

  • When crawling a specific section of X.com the user wanted to drop a list of post URL's to be captured and she realized she needed to add more exclusions to scope the crawl to only what she wanted to capture.
    • These exclusions will all be the same for similarly scoped workflows.
