Authentication and Authorisation ideas and best practices

Hi All,

I'm nearly at the stage of launching my chrome extension which is excellent news! Thank you to all and particularly @aaronklinker-st who have helped along the way.

I'm going to need to add user Authentication/Authorisation shortly before launch and I'm keen to know what some of you do for this and the best practices.

At the moment, I'm looking to have a third party website where users are directed to sign up at.

It seems like there are a few techniques that people use but what do you currently do to Authenticate/Authorise your Chrome applications?
