Penumbra Troubleshooting (Dalamud launcher update)

Okay, first time posting a discussion, so gonna try to be as concise as possible.

I'm having issues getting Penumbra to work ever since the recent Dalamud update. I'm not very tech/code-savvy, but I have a general understanding of how Penumbra works, and I've also looked at a few other, similar troubleshooting situations. Thus far, nothing I've tried has availed me. As for what I've tried...

• Manually reinstalling/updating Penumbra from the ground up, via redownloading the files and placing them in the proper folders. This has changed nothing; the "Penumbra has been automatically disabled due to crashes" message would still appear.
• Noted that I'm supposed to be using a .json URL to enable Penumbra now. Tried that - caused the DevPlugins tab to disappear entirely. No amount of finagling or reinstalling seems to bring it back. Thought I saw mention of the URL "adding Penumbra as a plugin option," so searched for Penumbra in the available plugins tab and came up empty.

Not really sure if I'm missing something or doing something wrong - I'm not really a coder/programmer, just a starving artist trying to mod their Final Fantasy. Any direction here would be greatly appreciated.
