Issue with text parsing in Brave browser - Mandarin

Description
When pressing the scan modifier key over something that should be a full word, only the hanzi is searched, giving me only the result from my CC-CEDICT Hanzi dictionary. To get actual pronunciation, I have to hover scan within the pop-up (see screenshot below). However, it should be scanning the full word to begin with. This is only happening in Brave for me, even in a private window with Yomitan being the only enabled extension. It works as expected in Firefox and vanilla Chromium.
