allow to turn off specific formatting rules [multiple blank lines]

i like to separate chunks of code optically, thus use several blank lines between those chunks.

this seems impossible with the zed editor.
firstly it is not well documented why and where this happens.
and after trying several things, including turning off the formatter alltogether, it still behaves like this.

i do not want my editor to mandate where and how many blank new lines i may use.

so such an option would be appreciated.
