- 1 1/2 C milk
- 2 tsp yeast
- 3/8 C sugar
- 3/8 C shortening
- 3/8 C instant potatoes (or 2/3 C mashed potatoes)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 eggs
- 4 1/2 C flour
- Make dough with all of the ingredients
- Let rise for 1 hour
- Roll them out to about 1/2 inch thickness
- Cut out the doughnut shapes
- Let the doughnuts rise again while heating the oil to 350 degrees
- Cook the doughnuts for about 1 minute on each side
