I've noticed on my iPhone that some apps connected to a website, like a banking app I use, have found a way to tell iOS which entry to highlight among my saved passwords. So instead of putting me through a searchable, alphabetical list of all my saved passwords, iOS suggests my username/password for the particular bank, which I can select with just one tap.
I assume this is only doable for passwords associated with domains that the app maker controls, so we won't be able to offer it for accounts on self-hosted realms. But it seems worth investigating how we can tell Apple that we control zulip.com, zulipchat.com, and chat.zulip.org, so that we can shorten the path to logging into realms on those domains.
There may be a counterpart feature on Android, I'm not sure; worth investigating too. 🙂
