Audio Plugins

Orature can use external audio recording editing and recording applications for audio editing, or to replace Orature's native recording page. In order to add an application, open the Settings drawer on the Application bar, and scroll down to "Application Settings." A list of included applications is displayed, with a radio button to select which application should be used for the Recording and Editing actions. Note that some applications may not be able to be used for certain actions.

To add another application, click "Add Helper Application," and fill out the form with the Application name, path to the Application's executable, and which actions the application supports.

Note that for an application to be compatible, it must be able to overrite the audio file in place. Applications such as Audacity are thus more difficult to use with Orature as they prefer to save files to their own projects, only writing out the file when the user selects export. In this case, you must export the file to the exact location where Orature stored the file.

Examples of known compatible software include:

  • Adobe Audition
  • Ocenaudio (note that Orature will attempt to locate Ocenaudio automatically if it is already installed in the default install path).
