How to Delete and Archive Learning Lab

You can remove a Learning Lab from the search but keep the source files and the PubHub project.

When a Learning Lab has reached an expiration due to a product's end-of-life, or because newer content can take its place, or when a maintainer decides to remove the learning lab, follow this process to ensure deletion is not a surprise and so that communicating and archiving are top-of-mind.

  1. Determine criteria for retiring a Learning Lab. Examples: end of life for a product, maintainer leaves Cisco and does not identify a new maintainer, more than a certain number of issues logged in a given time period. Write up the data for this decision to communicate on GitHub.
  2. Write an Issue in GitHub on the repo that contains the learning lab you want to retire, letting the maintainer know that you plan to retire the learning lab by a certain date, such as 2 weeks in the future. If the maintainer wants to appeal an archive decision, based on data not known to DevNet, give two weeks for that appeal process.
  3. Close the Issue in the GitHub repo, writing a comment to let the maintainer know the Learning Lab has been retired.
