Merge changes that are required for processing CMIP6Plus data.
Tested with CMIP6Plus. It needs CMIP6Plus compatible varlist and metadata files, and the new MIP tables and CMIP6Plus_CV.json.
Backward compatible, works as before for processing CMIP6.
