Summary of Changes

Hello @lukeiannucci, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request focuses on a significant cleanup and refactoring of the Espresso integration within the arbnode and espresso packages. The changes aim to simplify configuration management, consolidate transaction monitoring logic, and enhance error handling for Espresso-related components. It also includes updates to dependencies and configuration migration scripts to align with the new structure.

Highlights

  • Espresso Configuration Refactoring: Streamlined Espresso configuration parameters by removing redundant or unused fields from EspressoBatchPosterConfig and EspressoCaffNodeConfig, simplifying the overall configuration structure.
  • Simplified Key Manager Initialization: The NewEspressoKeyManager function now requires fewer parameters, as values like espressoNitroTEEVerifier, registerSignerConfig, userDataAttestationFile, and quoteFile are either derived internally or have been removed.
  • Consolidated Transaction Monitoring: Replaced separate TxnsPollingInterval and TxnsSendingInterval with a single TxnsMonitoringInterval in Espresso submitter configurations, simplifying the timing logic for transaction submission and finality checks.
  • Standardized Espresso TEE Constants: Centralized configuration values such as MaxTxnWaitTime, RetryReadContractDelay, MaxRetries, and GasLimitBufferIncreasePercent for Espresso TEE operations into constants within espressotee/espresso_tee_helpers.go.
  • Improved Error Handling for Signer Registration: The BatchPoster now sends a fatal error to a dedicated channel (fatalErrChan) instead of panicking when Espresso signer registration fails consecutively, allowing for more graceful error handling.
  • Delayed Message Fetcher Simplification: The DelayedMessageFetcher in arbnode has been simplified by removing the blocksToRead parameter (now a constant MaxBlocksToRead) and integrating the waitForConfirmations logic with requiredBlockDepth.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request introduces a significant cleanup and refactoring of the Espresso configuration. It simplifies various configuration structs by removing obsolete fields and centralizing some values as constants. Additionally, it improves error handling by replacing panics with a fatal error channel. The changes are consistent across the codebase and enhance maintainability. I've identified a couple of minor issues: a misleading flag description and a typo in a configuration field name.
