> Numpy 2.1 support

Dear developers,

Numpy 1.x will be EOL in 8 months (https://scientific-python.org/specs/spec-0000/). It's currently also difficult to depend on cellpose because many other packages have already moved far beyond Numpy 1.

Would it be possible to please unpin Numpy or at least support versions 2.x?

we support up to version 2.1 with numpy. the main limitation is numba - they now support 2.1 so we could increase the dependency upper bound: https://numba.readthedocs.io/en/stable/user/installing.html

EDIT: I will keep this open for now, I am not sure if we want to stop supporting py3.9 just yet.

For us Mac users it would be great if we could get Numpy 2.X support for 3.0.11 as this is the last version currently running on the MPS backend. Here as far as I can tell numpy is still pinned <2.0.

this should be resolved now - the latest cellpose version pins numpy < 2.2
