Collection of Windows Screensavers (Windows 95, 98, XP and 7) that can be used inside Linux.
Maybe unstable. Use with care.
These instructions were tested in debian 12
.
- Install xscreensaver (or another similar software)
# apt install -y xscreensaver xscreensaver-gl xscreensaver-gl-extra
- Install wine
# apt install -y wine winetricks
Also install wine32
# sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 && sudo apt update
# sudo apt install -y wine32:i386
Install display drivers (for Nvidia)
# sudo apt install -y nvidia-driver-libs:i386
- Configure Wine
$ winetricks renderer=gl
If there is a config problem. Try deleting the .wine
dir in $HOME
.
$ rm -rf ~/.wine
- Install the
windows95

The route must be /usr/local/src/windows95

you must modify the routes inside the bash files.
