No matter what type of blade or electronics you decide to use in your hilt, you will need some basic components:
- Hilt - The prop itself. If you aren't sure what a hilt is, you are probably in the wrong place!
- Power Source - most common power source is a 18650 type battery
- an in-hilt recharge port is strongly recommended
- Speaker - a 28mm 2w 8ohm speaker is recommended, although others may be used
- MCU - the brains of the hilt, this will either be a DIYino or an Arduino compatible board
- DIYino - the DIYino is built for this purpose and no other components are needed
- Arduino Compatible - Typically an Arduino Nano, additional components are required
- MPU6050 - Motion sensing board
- DFplayer & SD card - the sound board
- N channel MOSFETs - required to switch the blade components on and off
- WS2812 library compatible, addressable LEDs
- aviation connector for disconnecting the blade
- A high power LED mounted on a heatsink, such as those made by Cree and Luxeon
- Resistors sized appropriately for the LED based on Ohm's Law
- arrays of LEDs soldered in Series and parallel
