Sample of project here: https://restless-dream-6294.on.fleek.co/
This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app
.
These files were created as part of StackUp's campaign on Decentralizing Storage for Web3 with Filecoin.
Create your own decentralised forum app, with all data residing on IPFS.
- After cloning this project, you will need to obtain an API key from web3.storage.
- Then, store this API Key as a variable NEXT_PUBLIC_WEB3_STORAGE_API_KEY in a new file .env.
- You will also need to deploy the smart contract for the post manager (contracts/postManager.sol). There is no need to deploy the smart contract for the post.
- In line 42 of index.tsx, change the contract address
Post Smart Contract:
- When a post is created, it will store its poster wallet address, CID of the image tagged to the post and the image file name
- When a comment is made for the post, the commenter’s wallet address and the timestamp is stored on the smart contract
- When queried, it will return detailed information about the post such as the list of commenters and comment timestamp
Post Manager Smart Contract:
- Create post smart contracts and store the reference to the post smart contracts
- Maintain a list of existing post smart contracts that can be passed to the forum application when queried
- Retrieve post information such as the wallet address, number of comments and CID of the posts
- Manage the CID of the JSON file that holds the content of the posts and comments
First, run the development server:
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.tsx
. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.
API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.ts
.
The pages/api
directory is mapped to /api/*
. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.
This project uses next/font
to automatically optimize and load Inter, a custom Google Font.
