Serial programming adapter for the Espressif ESP8266 and ESP32 with a pin header connection. Provides a 6-pin connection that includes power, TX, RX, and the GPIO0 / Reset lines required to put the ESPx into programming mode.
This module was designed as a building block for rapidly creating Test Modules for the Testomatic PCB Test Jig System. It allows the tester to flash and communicate with a target ESP8266/ESP32 device. However, there is nothing specific about Testomatic in this module so it can be used for any project that requires a programming module for an ESP8266/ESP32.
- Pin header interface for connection to host.
- ESPFlash 1x6 0.1" header for connection to target board.
- CP2102N USB-to-serial converter.
- TX/RX LEDs.
- 600mA 3.3V voltage regulator to power target board.
This is a variant of the original ESPFlasher, but with the USB-C connector replaced by a pin header so that it can be used as a sub-module on another PCB.
Information about the original ESPFlasher is at:

Schematic and PCB were created in Fusion360 and exported as EAGLE format, which can be imported back into Fusion360 or various other packages including KiCAD.
