🚀 About Me

I'm an engineering graduate with a background in software development, now fully committed to transitioning into Data Engineering.

My real foundation in data goes back to 2021, during my Master's thesis on automated segmentation and pixel-wise classification using machine learning and deep neural networks — where I first discovered how much I enjoy working with data pipelines, models, and large-scale datasets.

After graduating, I spent two years gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, production environment — working with Windows-based systems, database troubleshooting, and technical support for a large tourism ERP portfolio. During that time, I taught myself web development on the side, which eventually opened the door to backend engineering roles in Germany. There, I worked across two companies in different industries, building and maintaining backend systems, REST APIs, and data-driven production pipelines (PHP/Symfony, Pimcore), with some frontend integration work (Angular) along the way. This gave me a solid engineering foundation — writing clean, maintainable code, working with databases at scale, and thinking in terms of systems and pipelines rather than isolated scripts.

In October 2025, I made the decision to refocus on what I've been genuinely passionate about since my Master's degree: data. I joined the Data Science & AI program at WBS Coding School, where I've been working hands-on with:

  • 🐍 Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow)
  • 🗄️ SQL & data pipelines
  • 📊 EDA, feature engineering & statistics
  • 🤖 Machine Learning & Deep Learning (CNNs)
  • ⏱️ Time-series analysis & forecasting
  • 👁️ Computer vision
  • ☁️ Cloud data tools (Azure, Power BI, Tableau)

Along the way, I've built several end-to-end projects — from a cloud-based data lakehouse to time-series forecasting models and clustering pipelines — applying what I learn to real datasets rather than just theory.

🎯 I'm now ready to take the next step: starting fresh as a Junior Data Engineer, combining my backend engineering background with a growing data science skill set — bringing engineering discipline, a strong analytical foundation, and genuine determination to build a long-term career in data.

📍 Based in Gelsenkirchen, Germany — open to relocation and remote opportunities.
