Caio E. Stringari, PhD

Hi 👋, my name is Caio (pronounced as K-“EYE”-oh, “K” as in “Key” “Eye” “Oh” as the “o” in “Pro”) and I am an Earth Scientist 🌎. I currently live in St. John's, Canada 🇨🇦. I recently finished first post-doc in France 🇫🇷. I have a PhD from the University of Newcastle, Australia 🇦🇺 and a bachelor's degree in oceanography from the Federal University of Rio Grande, Brazil 🇧🇷. I am specialized in using machine learning and data-driven techniques to solve challenging environmental problems. My work so far focused mainly to study waves 🌊 processes such as wave breaking, energy dissipation and wave-wave interactions - which have several coastal and ocean engineering applications. I program mostly in python but can work proficiently with fortran, octave/matlab and (occasionally) C++.
