The workflows in this repo are duplicated, i.e. there is both the older sandpaper-main.yaml and the newer docker_build_deploy.yaml (and others). This PR manually updates the workflows and removes duplicates.
Additionally, this PR changes the yaml extension of the test-exercises.yaml and linting.yaml workflows to
yml. This will ensure future workflow updates can happen but won't overwrite these user-provided files and the workflows themselves will still run with the yml extension.
