I feel #2941 ought to first pass regular CI, and then there's still the backport to consider... and we want this new version so we can improve Nix in downstream projects. So I think it's better to just do 1.8.5 when 9.12.3 comes out... it's not like we'll run out of minor version numbers soon. I understand the desire to be able to handle it with a constraint bump, though, it is cleaner. |
