  • currently partially pip, partially Debian

  • driver was GDAL

  • mixed setup

  • OS based images?

  • debian: UbuntuGIS

  • latest: pip only

  • then apply to small/medium/large

  • we do not want to mix Debian and pip

  • absolute minimum would be Ubuntu (or Debian?)

  • we need to make sure apps using "latest" do not break

    • we are pre 1.0, so if we need to break, better now than later

  • use pip only for latest

  • no Python libraries from apt

  • why Ubuntu and Debian?

  • ask community, survey

  • keep existing Dockerfile as is

  • add the extra ones on top

  • latest: as is

  • but Python3 libraries to PyPI

  • opportunity to use lite image and add their own

  • less deps = less footprint = less security concerns = less attack vectors
