Here is a short list of open questions for the GITenberg project:

  • Canonical source format as raw text or a markup language? PG is currently: .txt > .rst > .tei

  • Repo structure: folders, scans, text (markup), downloads/targets

  • How to organize code that accomplishes our goals. (ansible?)

  • How are we going to rebuild ebooks on changes?

  • What about librivox audiobooks?

  • What about original book scans?

  • What do we do with existing rst and tei files?

  • How do we keep track of book repo revisions, git hash, git tags?

  • How do we keep track of subsequent Project Gutenberg editions?

  • How do we clear books with copyright in the PG archive?
