Lars Marcher Bek - Software Developer

Welcome to my GitHub profile, you can connect with me on LinkedIn or Discord (username: lmbek), if you are a programmer who want to collaborate.

Software Developer | Go Specialist | System Architect focused on Scalability & Maintainability

I am a pragmatic and result-oriented developer with a strong theoretical understanding of software architecture and operations.

I thrive on high-impact work where I can create real change and momentum. I work fast and efficiently when the business value is clear — and thoroughly when long-term quality and durability matter most. Low-priority tasks motivate me less, but I handle them professionally to maintain overall forward progress.

My strengths lie in low-level optimization — managing timeouts, resource usage and execution flow — enabling systems to stay stable and efficient under load. I design solutions that are easy to operate, automate and monitor, with GitOps, CI/CD, testing, pipelines and uptime considerations built in from the beginning.

I develop robust solutions in Go and JavaScript with a focus on clarity, testability and simple architecture that scales without growing into unmanageable complexity.

My Philosophy

I build systems that can withstand reality — not code that only appears stable because it has never been challenged. “It's been working for years” is not a quality metric if the system fails the moment it meets resistance.

I prioritize architecture and operational properties over developer comfort. Software must tolerate failure, pressure, misuse and active attack — otherwise it does not belong in production.

I work with principles like fail-fast, clear domain boundaries, small and explicit interfaces, and no hidden magic, because a system must be understandable and controllable — not just pleasant to develop.

I prioritize Go because the language naturally enforces the same values: simplicity, predictability and architectural discipline.

I strive to adhere to the principles outlined in the The Twelve-Factor App methodology: https://12factor.net/

Core Competencies

✅ Backend in Go (Golang)

Simple, stable backend solutions with clean interfaces and operations in mind from the start.

✅ Frontend with JS/TS

Pragmatic, lightweight frontend — tools chosen by necessity, not fashion.

✅ System Architecture & Fullstack

From requirements to operations — transparent, long-lived solutions.

✅ Microservices with clear domains

Small, self-contained services with low coupling and easy replaceability.

Technologies & Tools

  • Go (Golang)
  • TypeScript / JavaScript / ESBuild
  • GOHTML templating
  • MySQL
  • Docker & Kubernetes
  • GitOps / CI/CD
  • Slog + Grafana / Datadog
  • JetBrains (GoLand, IntelliJ, DataGrip)
  • GitHub Projects / Jira / Markdown
  • JetBrains AI, Junie, ChatGPT
