Summary

  • Add a new wiki article for Client ID Metadata Document (CIMD), the mechanism defined in draft-ietf-oauth-client-id-metadata-document
  • Covers: what CIMD is, how it works (with mermaid sequence diagram), comparison with static registration and DCR, authentication constraints, authorization server discovery, security considerations (SSRF, caching, phishing, redirect URI attestation), and CIMD Services for local development

Notes

  • dynamic-client-registration article doesn't exist yet, so DCR references use external links to RFC 7591 instead of <Ref> components
  • This is an IETF draft (not yet RFC) but already adopted by MCP as the preferred client registration method

Add a new auth wiki article explaining the OAuth Client ID Metadata
Document specification (draft-ietf-oauth-client-id-metadata-document).
Covers how URL-based client_id works, comparison with static
registration and DCR, authentication constraints, security
considerations, and CIMD Services for local development.
